These Terms govern your use of the TooLongLink website at toolong.link (the "Site") and the TooLongLink desktop application (the "Desktop App"), together the "Service". The Service is operated by Andrew Ong, a sole proprietor ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service generates AI-written summaries and translations of publicly accessible online videos that you identify by URL. Summaries are produced by automated language models and are provided for personal, informational use.
This is important, please read it. When you submit a video URL on the Site, the resulting summary is cached and stored on our servers and is publicly viewable by anyone who visits the corresponding page. These pages may be indexed by search engines and may be listed in our public sitemap. We may translate, edit, excerpt, or remove them at any time.
Summaries are keyed to the video, not to you. We do not publish your name, email address, or account identifier alongside a summary. If you want a summary that is not public, use the Desktop App, which stores its output only on your own computer.
Some features require an account. You are responsible for activity under your account. Free use of the Site is subject to usage limits that we may set, change, or enforce at any time, including limits on how many videos or how much total video length you may process in a given period.
The Desktop App runs on your computer and requires you to supply your own third-party AI provider API key. Charges incurred against that key are billed to you directly by that provider and are entirely your responsibility. We do not control, set, or receive those charges, and we are not liable for them. Your key is stored on your computer, and the videos you process in the Desktop App are downloaded and summarized on your computer.
Paid features are described at the point of purchase. Prices may change. Where a purchase is processed by a third-party payment provider, that provider's terms also apply to the transaction. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at contact@toolong.link and we will review it in good faith.
Summaries are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misleading. They may omit important context or misstate what a video says. Do not rely on the Service for medical, legal, financial, safety, or other consequential decisions. Always consult the original video.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your submissions, or your violation of these Terms or of any third party's rights.
The Service summarizes content hosted by third parties and relies on third-party providers. We do not own, endorse, or control that content or those services, and we are not responsible for them. Trademarks and video content belong to their respective owners. TooLongLink is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by YouTube, Google, or Twitch.
If you believe material available through the Service infringes your copyright, contact contact@toolong.link with enough detail to identify the material and your rights in it. We remove infringing material when properly notified.
We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of the Service, and may remove any cached summary, at any time and without notice. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.
We may update these Terms. We will change the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
